Inn at Laurel Point Hotel Gardens

Don’t worry, we had to check the pronunciation too

Our Erickson Wing rooms smell better than ever, thanks to the arrival of our newest amenities from L’ Occitane En Provence. This was no easy feat. Choosing the right type of bathroom amenities for a hotel is a challenge. Choose something with too much floral fragrance and you’ve ticked off your gentlemen guests. Choose something with a hint of sandalwood or musk and your lady guests are left feeling like they’ve on a hike in the deep woods.

We spent quite a bit of time searching for the right essence. Something not too flowery, but not too woodsy. We are thrilled to have selected L’ Occitane En Provence’s Verbena to our Erickson Wing rooms.

Like our Erickson Wing suites, the Verbena amenities are luxuriated in for their soothing & relaxing powers. And like our other partners, L’Occitane cares about the environment, the communities they work in and the people who work for them. L’Occitane En Provence is a leader in sustainability, philanthropy and social responsibility. Key ingredients like Verbena, are grown using sustainable agriculture principles, as the company aims to preserve biodiversity. Their environmental policy was designed to limit the carbon footprint of their activities, so that they can employ cleaner transportation like rail, boats & electric vans; more than 70% of their products are shipped by boat.

So, we found the amenities, selected the scent and placed them in our suites, now comes the hard part. How do you properly say the name of these in-room goodies without:

a.) sounding like you’re trying too hard with a fake accent

b.) butchering the beautiful name of an equally beautiful product

c.) saying the name so quickly and incoherently that our guests politely smile and nod

Fortunately, we weren’t the only ones who weren’t entirely sure how to pronounce L’Occitane initially, in fact, the company has its own video where the founder properly explains the pronunciation for us.

Now, say it with us… LOX-EE-TAN. The good thing is that you really don’t need to know how to pronounce them in order to enjoy them.
