Victoria’s Inn at Laurel Point offers solution to away from home back to school anxiety.

Aug. 11, 2011, Victoria, BC¬ - As older kids across the country gear up to leave home for school, many for the first time, the team at Victoria's Inn at Laurel Point are putting the finishing touches on a new Parents Transition package, specially-designed for moms and dads of West Coast-bound students.

"Victoria and its immediate surroundings is a region with over eight colleges and universities and a number of boarding schools - that means there are bound to be quite a few parents who are facing this exciting, and a little heartbreaking, transition," said Ian Powell, managing director at the Inn at Laurel Point. "This package is all about helping moms and dads celebrate this important milestone as stress-free as possible with a little pampering."

At the same time, it also encourages parents to "let go" by offering them a distraction while their children settle into their new "home".

Available until the end of September 2011, the Parents Transition package is CDN$299.00 and includes one spectacular night in a ultra-lux Studio Suite (even has a pull out sofa should their kids want to share), parking, continental breakfast for two and a ooh La La Bath Butler experience ( a private bathing experience where you choose your intoxicating bath potion and reading material, and the Inn supplies the snack, created specially for the bathtub!) . Additional nights are available for CDN $214.00, including parking. Not to be left at home, four legged family members are also welcome to be part of the transition and receive their own pampering at the hotel.

"We have also created this for students. Research shows that parents are having a hard time letting go - this allows kids to check in their parents at the hotel, and they can set up their new life on campus, while Mum and Dad are distracted with our amenities," says Powell. "Yet the kids can also enjoy the hotel before heading into student life."

Also knowing that parents will want to come back and visit from time to time, Inn at Laurel Point is automatically enrolling all parents who stay on the package into the hotel's Innsiders Program. Members are eligible to receive: priority early check in, priority late check out, priority room selection; a choice of newspapers delivered to your door in the morning; penalty-free same-day 5p.m. cancellation; storage of personal belongings between visits; and rewards based on number of stays.
