A Taste of the Past

A taste of the past Chef Horen hails from Calgary, where he was executive chef at Catch Seafood Restaurant (recently named Best New Seafood Restaurant in Canada by Enroute magazine).

He explains his drive: "I'm really passionate and particular about what I do." Aura customers can attest to that.

Recognized nationally and celebrated locally, Chef Horen has no shortage of accomplishments. He competes internationally with the Canadian National Culinary Team, was named Canadian Chef of the Year in 2007 by the Canadian Culinary Federation, and is a mentor on the Food Network's Next Great Chef.

In fact, everything he does is in exceptionally good taste.

At Aura, he blends European and Japanese flavours, while maintaining a flair for West Coast cuisine. His philosophy in food is simple: fresh, local ingredients and unique blends of flavours and presentation. Through Aura, he has created a niche in the Victoria restaurant scene.
