For those of you that have done a renovation, even at home, you know it’s a “joy” especially when it’s the core part of the home, which for the Inn, is the front entrance, kitchen, restaurant & gardens. There are always surprises and challenges along the way, and the entire time you hope it will all be worth it.
As we are nearing the end of our renewal project and have completed the kitchen, restaurant and gardens, with just the entrance left to go, we can honestly say – IT IS!
One of the big changes you’ll notice is that Aura Restaurant is now OPEN – strike up a happy dance! Our team is now serving our innovative new small plates menu. Our Food & Beverage Director, Janis Goard and Executive Chef, Takashi Ito, together with their team, spent the last 12 months reimagining our guests’ experience in Aura. What they’ve done is create something truly adventurous for our guests. I’m positive that the constant innovation of their globally-inspired small plates menu and revitalized interior will keep you coming back for more.
I’m most excited to share with you our newly re-designed gardens and reflective pool on the west side of the building, it is just lovely. All that’s missing is your next cocktail party or wedding reception.
The other areas of the hotel to introduce are our 3 new meeting rooms, Hunt, McKenzie & Martin. These rooms are named after renowned First Nations artists and friends of our founders Paul & Artie Arsens’ and add to our 10,000sqft of event space. Ready to book your next conference or meeting?
For many years Paul and Artie collected art and had a passion for local art, especially First Nations, and Pacific Rim inspired art and artifacts. We have decided that this collection of art will be known as “The Arsens Collection”. As part of the Renewal, we have created new spaces in the lobby to showcase and share this significant body of art gathered over the last 40 years.
So now we await the completion of our new lobby which already hints at how incredible it is going to be – our new look is just around the corner!
