Food Philosophy at our Downtown Restaurant

Our Chefs selects local and organic foods rather than those from afar. Like beef raised on Vancouver Island, salmon caught in our rivers and streams, locally tended produce, and herbs from our very own garden. We even source vintage wines from around the block. And microbreweries that produce aged ciders and stellar beers. The closer, the fresher, the better.

Our Victoria, BC dining options are far from standard.

Like everything else we do at Inn at Laurel Point hotel, we go way beyond standard, and dining is no exception. Every creation, every morsel, is delivered with playful enthusiasm and creative excellence.

Meet Takashi Ito, our Executive Chef who oversees all food served in the hotel including banquet cuisine, Inn-Room dining and of course AURA waterfront restaurant + patio.

“I am in love with Victoria and Vancouver Island. The ingredients and culinary talent available to us are truly amazing. To be here where I can indulge in my love of wine and local ingredients is a dream come true.”

Another talent Chef Ito brings with him is a passion for ice carving and he has competed across the country and around the world – both with his carving and his cooking.

And while Chef’s inspired dishes have made their way to AURA’s menu, including an increase in vegetarian and gluten free options, he is launching new menus seasonally to be sure he captures the very best of the Island’s seasonal bounty.
