The next time you’re at our beautiful Inn and sharing a quick hello or conversation with our remarkable housekeeping colleagues, you’ll be speaking with a group of award-winners.
We are the proud recipients of the 2018 Housekeeping Award, bestowed upon our extraordinary colleagues in late April at the BC Hospitality Industry Conference in Whistler, BC.
We sent a contingent of colleagues to receive the award on behalf of the housekeeping team. Patricia, Maricel, and Housekeeping Manager Jason Low were joined by our Managing Director Ian Powell on stage to accept the award.
Our housekeeping department is absolutely outstanding, consistently raising the bar within our property. On top of an average length of service of nine years among the housekeeping colleagues, we’re pushing the boundaries of what it means to succeed.
In 2017 alone, we had:
- 55 Colleague of the Month nominations through mentions on various guest communication channels and internal Colleague nominations;
- Four Colleague of the Month Award wins; and
- Room Attendant Dindo Abella win Colleague of the Year due to his outstanding service, performance, and teamwork.
Our housekeeping colleagues have also been an integral part of helping reduce our carbon footprint to remain carbon neutral, which was vital to successfully attain our 5 Green Key rating in 2017. With the most waste being produced from guestrooms, our room attendants had to make numerous operational changes in order to help us achieve this goal.
Finally, a cross-property cheer to the more than 30 short-listed candidates from around the province. The millions of visitors heading to our amazing province will appreciate our shining properties both inside and out!
