Summary of Position:
To deliver a refined West Coast dining experience inspired by seasonality, a sense of place, and thoughtful hospitality. Set within a waterfront city setting, the Food Runner engages guests with warmth, professionalism, and genuine care, creating memorable experiences through attentive and gracious service.

The Food Runner plays a key role in supporting seamless service by maintaining the flow, timing, and presentation of dishes from the kitchen to the dining room. This position requires awareness, efficiency, and composure, contributing to a polished, well-paced dining experience through attentive support of both guests and the service team.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the highest level of guest satisfaction by assisting in the delivery of consistent, attentive, and polished service
  • Expedite food from the kitchen and deliver dishes accurately and efficiently to the correct tables
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with the culinary team to ensure accuracy, timing, and presentation of all dishes
  • Coordinate closely with Servers and other Food Runners to ensure dishes are delivered smoothly and without disruption to service
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of tables and service areas, contributing to a refined and welcoming dining environment
  • Read the dining room and anticipate where assistance is required, including food running, clearing tables, and replenishing service supplies
  • Perform duties efficiently and with composure, adapting pace and priorities as business demands without compromising service standards
  • Assist with general table maintenance and bussing as needed to support overall service flow
  • Maintain extensive knowledge of Aura’s menus, features, and culinary approach to accurately support guest inquiries
  • Communicate respectfully and effectively with guests, supervisors, and colleagues, contributing to a cooperative and professional team environment
  • Maintain awareness of Inn at Laurel Point facilities and local attractions to assist enquiring guests
  • Uphold Aura and Inn at Laurel Point policies, standards, and procedures at all times

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience in food running, expediting, bussing, or serving within a full-service or upscale restaurant environment considered an asset
  • Demonstrated commitment to a welcoming, guest-focused approach, supporting the guest experience through attentive and professional service support
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently and remain composed in a fast-paced service environment
  • Strong communication skills and professional interpersonal presence
  • Positive, energetic, and team-oriented approach to service
  • Genuine interest in food, hospitality, and the guest dining experience
  • Valid FoodSafe Level 1 and Serving It Right certifications
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30 lbs and meet the physical demands of service
  • Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays
