Inn at Laurel Point Hotel Gardens

We recently added an electric vehicle charging station to the hotel as our latest sustainability endeavor. Our Tesla & EV guests can now charge their cars, while they themselves recharge in one of our awesome waterfront guest rooms or suites.

We partnered with Sun Country Highway to install a charging station equipped with one EV-40 32 amp charger and one Tesla 40 amp charger. We call it the JuiceBox and it is conveniently located in our driveway.

We hope that our new charging station will encourage guests who have electric cars to travel with them, instead of leaving them parked at home.

Highway 99 and I-5 in the US, has been dubbed the West Coast Green Highway and is lined with clean alternative fueling stations such as natural gas, biodiesel, hydrogen and charging stations. Guests traveling from California, Oregon and Washington will find charging stations sprinkled along the highway every 25-50 miles and once on Vancouver Island, charging stations can be found in local parks, community centers and even some parking lots! Apps like plugshare.com and Sun Country Highway’s own app will help travelers plot their route and Tesla drivers will find our charging station pre-programmed in their GPS.

Here at the Inn we take doing what we can for the environment very seriously, and are over the top proud to be BC’s first carbon neutral hotel. An addition like our JuiceBox car charging station, is just another step in our green journey. Have a look here at our Corporate Social Responsibility Infographic.

Hope to recharge you soon!
